Abstract:Emotion plays an important role in people's life. Research shows that human emotions can be aroused and conveyed through visual content. With the increasing popularity of social media platforms, a large number of images and video clips are uploaded to the Internet. This highlights the importance of developing intelligent algorithms to automatically recognize or predict the emotions that these images and videos may convey or stimulate. Visual emotion recognition has many potential applications, such as image/video retrieval, recommendation, opinion mining and so on. This talk will introduce the recent research and applications of image and video emotion recognition in Visual and Aural Intelligent Lab.
