Big Social Media Data and Challenges for Machine Learning

主讲人 :Prof. Huan Liu Arizona State University USA 地点 :教三楼611 开始时间 : 2018-10-17 10:00 结束时间 : 2018-10-17 11:30

摘要:

“Big data is the new oil.” Social media data opens the door for interdisciplinary research and allows researchers to collectively study large-scale human behavior otherwise impossible. The study of social media data brings out new challenges for machine learning and data mining. In this talk, we examine some critical issues related to big social media data such as how to make big data bigger, how to algorithmically evaluate the understandability of machine-learned topics from large text data, and how to obtain genuine information and get our questions answered in a noisy social media environment. We are certain that new research issues are awaiting more and richer data in our search of solutions; with more data and newer tools, we are better than ever equipped to answer challenging and novel research questions and advance data science.
